His son, E.G., recalled that when his father started a family fantasy football league in 1991, he offered $100 to a friend in exchange for a draft pick. Never forgetting the impact that the R-MC Award scholarship had on his life, Allen established the Buddy and Ann Allen Scholarship in 2007, a fund enabling students from Richmond-area public high schools and community college transfer students to attend R-MC.
